We quietly opened the store in December 2008 with minimum stock and high hopes for the future of the business. In January 2009 we started to get noticed by neighborhood families and welcomed back customers from our prior twice monthly clothing and shoe sales. In February our presence became further known by some advertising and word of mouth (for which are so grateful!). In March we hired our first part-time employee as our business continued to thrive. Now it's April and we are busier than ever! Luckily we have just discovered a way to do more entries, yay! We work long hours for you, but you're worth it ;-)
It was our intention to build slowly over time but our consignors and customers had other ideas! We are grateful for each consignor, each customer, each referral. It is a pleasure to host and serve the greater community, and the items we've been able to donate directly to needy local charities is something to be proud of.
We expected Baby Steps. We got Leaps and Bounds. This is not a bad problem, of course, but it does mean we have to take time to realize new methods of business. As we progress we appreciate communication from everyone on how we're doing. We hope you appreciate how we communicate with you, as well. We have had to notify consignors of longer wait times for items to be entered and displayed due to high traffic - again, not a bad problem but a delay we did not expect. We are excited to try the new entry method!
Thank you, everyone, for your understanding and your continued business as we learn to go from Baby Steps to Leaps and Bounds! We are always willing to take your call or email for updates on the status of your items. We are here because of you, so thanks!
